In the heart of our community, the Knit and Natter group recently received a precious donation: a beautifully hand-crocheted blanket. This generous contribution wasn't just a cozy cover; it represented hours of careful craftsmanship and love. Recognising its potential to spread warmth and comfort to more people, our group decided to embark on a special project: transforming the blanket into individual knee rugs.
The decision to convert the blanket into knee rugs wasn't just about maximising its utility; it was about extending our reach and support to those in need. Our completed knee rugs found their way to Right at Home, an organisation dedicated to supporting individuals in their own homes, as well as to other groups aiding people living with Alzheimer's. By repurposing the crocheted squares, we were able to help over 20 people.
